Nu Delta Fraternity Constitution
- Preamble: The fraternity aims to strengthen brotherhood, foster pride in the house, and promote academic excellence, maintaining ties with alumni.
Article I - Identity
- Section 1: The name of the fraternal organization is Nu Delta Fraternity, Incorporated.
Article II - Membership

Section 1: To be considered an Active Brother, a person must:
- Be an undergraduate student at MIT, or previously enrolled the preceding semester.
- Maintain good financial standing with the house, or have a plan approved by the Internal Revenue Committee alongside the Nu Delta Housing Contract

Section 2: Any MIT student may be pledged. Pledging is initiated with a 3/4 vote of Active Brothers.

Section 3: Pledges, after completing training (duration annually determined by Active Brothers), can become Brothers if approved by an affirmative 3/4 vote of Active Brothers, and if not a member of another fraternal organization except honorary or service fraternities. Pledges become Brothers on initiation.

Section 4: Only properly qualified pledges can be initiated into the brotherhood.
Article III - Officers

Section 1: The Executive Committee consists of officers (President, Vice President, Pledge Trainer, Treasurer, House Manager, Maintenance Chair, Steward, Rush Chair, and Brotherhood Chair) with specific ranks and terms.

Section 2:
- Officers serve one-year terms.
- President and Pledge Trainer can not be re-elected for consecutive terms.
- A person may run for reelection to either position if they've held that particular office for less than half of a term.

Section 3: Only one person can hold each position in the Executive Committee, unless the fraternity is too small to have several positions.

Section 4: A Brother may only hold one Executive Committee position at one time, unless the number of members limits this.
Section 5-6: Election Procedures

Officers are elected during the second semester or two weeks after the pledge introduction.

Nominations are open at least seven days before elections.

Section 7: Rush Chair(s) are elected via plurality vote of Active Brothers after all Executive Committee members are elected.
Section 8: Duties of Officers
- Executive Committee members ensure all activities align with the fraternity's rules and the Interfraternity Council's rules of MIT.
Article IV - Meetings

Section 1: Regular weekly meetings are held during the academic year. Special meetings can be called by the highest-ranking officer or, by a majority vote.

Section 2: Order of business: call to order, roll call, officer reports, old business, new business, good of the order, and adjournment.

Section 3: Officers can be recalled by a 2/3 vote from a majority of the Active Members.

Section 4: All members of the Executive Committee must live in the house during the academic year, unless exceptions apply.
Article V - Finances

Section 1: House bills are collected according to the Nu Delta Housing Contract. Every Brother living in the house must sign the contract annually.

Section 2: An Internal Revenue Committee (President, Vice President, and Treasurer) enforces the procedure for housing bills.

Section 3: If any officer of the Internal Revenue Committee is in poor financial standing, they are replaced immediately by the next officer in line.
Article VI - Risk Management Policy
- Section 1: All activities must adhere to the fraternity's Risk Management Policy.
Article VII - Standing Rules

Section 1: Any motion that will be in effect for more than one semester will be moved as a Standing Rule.

Section 2: A Standing Rule requires a 2/3 vote from the Active Brothers and can only be repealed using a similar vote (or a majority vote if six days notice isn't given).
