### Military Leave Policy

Spring Fire Department (SFD) is committed to protecting the job rights of employees on military leave.

This policy applies to employees taking part in a variety of military duties, including training and active military service.

Employees should provide SFD with notice of their leave in advance, but written notice is not required.

Employees on temporary or extended military leave may use accrued paid vacation or personal leave.

SFD will pay employees their base salary for up to 31 days while on temporary or extended military leave.
### Military Leave Benefits

Employees on extended military leave can elect to continue group health insurance for up to 31 days, paying the regular premium.

After 31 days, employees and dependents can continue health insurance for up to 24 months at COBRA rates.
