Reemployment

Application for Reemployment
- Employees must reapply for employment within specific timeframes dependent on their length of service:
- Under 31 days: report for reemployment on the first full workday after service completion.
- 31 to 180 days: submit an application within 14 days of service completion.
- Over 180 days: submit an application within 90 days of service completion.
- Hospitalization or convalescence: submit an application within two years of service completion.
Exceptions to Reemployment
- Employees are not entitled to reinstatement if:
- Reemployment is impossible or unreasonable due to a change in company circumstances.
- Reemployment causes undue hardship for the company.
- Prior employment was brief and non-recurrent.
- The employee did not receive an honorable discharge.
General Benefits Upon Reemployment
- Employees receive seniority and benefits accumulated before military leave, plus any additional benefits they would have earned.
- Military leave is counted towards FMLA eligibility.
- Employees are protected from discharge for 180 days after reemployment if they served over 30 days, for one year if they served over 180 days.
