- Visual media can be formally produced by organizations or informally produced.
- The primary purpose of visual information is to gain attention, create meaning, and facilitate retention.
Design Elements
- Line: describes a shape or outline, can create texture, and can be thick or thin, actual, implied, vertical, horizontal, diagonal, or contour.
- Center of interest: an area that first attracts attention in a composition, often created by contrast of values, colors, or placement.
- Balance: a feeling of visual equality in shape, form, value, color, etc., can be symmetrical or asymmetrical.
- Harmony: brings together a composition with similar units, creating a sense of unity.
- Contrast: offers a change in value, creating a visual discord in a composition, and can be used to create an area of emphasis.
- Directional movement: a visual flow through the composition, creating a sense of motion.
Intellectual Property
- Intellectual property laws protect creators' rights and motivate them to produce products or ideas.
- Without intellectual property laws, creators would be threatened, and the economy and human advancement would be impacted.
- In the Philippines, Republic Act 8293, or the "Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines", protects intellectual properties, including copyright, trademarks, and patents.
