Pender's Health Promotion Theory

- Factors such as prior related behavior, perceived action benefits, self-efficacy, influences, and feelings all impact commitment to health.
Bandura's Self-Efficacy Theory
- Self-efficacy is the measure of a person's capacity to execute behaviors needed to produce performance attainments.
- These include vicarious experience, social persuasion, performance experience, imaginal experience, and physical and emotional states.
Becker's Health Belief Model
- It states that the chances of adopting a healthy behaviour depend on the outcome of made assessments.
- The two assessments involve threat of a health problem and pros and cons of taking action.
- It relies on modifying variables, perceived susceptibility, perceived benefits, perceived threat, perceived barriers, self-efficacy, and action cues.
Green's Precede-Proceed Model
- The PRECEDE-PROCEED model is a comprehensive framework that assesses health needs and designs, implements and evaluates other public health and health promotion programs to meet those needs.
- PRECEDE provides program structure, while PROCEED the structure to implement and assess it.
- The parts for implementing this model consist of: social assessment, epidemiological assessment, educational and ecological assessment, administrative and policy assessment, implementation, process evaluation, impact evaluation, and outcome evaluation.
