Introduction to Plus and Minus Operations
- Addition (+) combines values, increasing a total.
- Subtraction (-) takes away a value, decreasing a total.

Addition Operation (+)
- Combining two or more numbers to find a total is called addition.
- The symbol used is "+".

Subtraction Operation (-)
- Taking away a value from another is called subtraction.
- The symbol used is "-".

Properties of Addition
- Commutative property: Changing the order of addends does not change the sum. (a + b = b + a)
