Ligands in Coordination Compounds

Ligand: According to Werner's theory, a ligand is an ion or molecule that binds to the central metal atom/ion in a coordination compound.

Types of Coordination Compounds

Homoleptic Coordination Compounds: Compounds in which a single type of ligand is attached to the central metal atom/ion.
