Statutory Holidays

  • Five holidays are specified by the Act: National Day, Yang di-Pertuan Agong's Birthday, State Ruler's Birthday, Labour Day, and Malaysia Day

Annual Leave

  • Paid annual leave is provided as follows:
    • Less than 2 years of service: 8 days per year
    • 2-5 years of service: 12 days per year
    • More than 5 years of service: 16 days per year

Sick Leave

  • Employees are entitled to paid sick leave as follows:
    • Less than 2 years of service: 14 days per year
    • 2-5 years of service: 18 days per year
    • More than 5 years of service: 22 days per year
  • If an employee is hospitalized, they can take up to 60 days sick leave per year

Contribution to Employees Provident Fund (EPF)

  • Objective: to ensure that every worker has sufficient funds to sustain themselves after retirement
  • Minimum retirement age: 60 years old
  • Employees can withdraw savings from the fund at the age of 55, even if they are still working
