Maintenance Operations Officer-in-Charge/Superintendent (OIC/SUPT) Responsibilities

  • Develops and publishes the wing operations/maintenance schedule in coordination with other squadrons and submits to both the OG/CC and MXG/CC for approval.
  • Determines long-range fleet health maintenance priorities.
  • Manages the data collection process, reviews data, and verifies analysis for maintenance data collection requirements.

Maintenance Data Management

  • Evaluates and provides trend analysis information to the MXG/CC and SQ/CCs.
  • Ensures aircraft status is properly reported and maintained IAW AFI 21-103.
  • Coordinates with the PS&D Aerospace Vehicle Distribution Officer (AVDO) to ensure all assignment and possession changes are accurately reported to the MAJCOM AVDO.

Special Analysis Studies

  • Initiates, reviews, and validates special analysis studies.
  • Determines planning factors for the next year’s flying hour program.
  • Ensures the MxCAP2 model or equivalent is utilized for the assigned MDS, if available.

Geographical Location (GEOLOC) Codes

  • Develops procedures to update GEOLOC codes for all on and off-station possessed aircraft and ensures GEOLOC codes are updated/correct in the MIS “Location Subsystem” (G081 units are exempt).
  • IMDS units use code “XXXX,” and G081 units use “CCCC” for classified locations.

Unit Deployment and Maintenance

  • Ensures any deploying unit loads all equipment into the IMDS-CDB Aerospace Expeditionary Force subsystem (G081 units are exempt).
  • Hosts DFTs/CFTs, provides in-briefs on unit-specific maintenance and tool-control requirements, reviews plans, and coordinates/monitors status of aircraft and progress of repair work.

Base Level Repair Capability

  • Participates in the review of base level repair capability IAW TO 00-20-3, AFREP in Chapter 11 of this AFI, and supplements.

Wing Notification and Radio Call Signs

  • Publishes wing notification requirements for munitions-loaded or unloaded aircraft.
  • Establishes/sustains local radio call signs for maintenance LMR networks IAW AFI 17-210, Radio Management.

Quality Assurance (QA) Training

  • Develops a training plan for individuals assigned to QA that will inspect MXO functions.
  • Minimum training requirements include MIS (G081/IMDS/or equivalent) online and background products for inspections, time changes, TCTOs, and aircraft configuration management.

MAJCOM Master Course Listing

  • Ensures MAJCOM Master Course Listing includes 2R weapon system familiarization courses requirements.
  • The course will include weapon system/communications electronics familiarization, flightline and shop operations, organizational structure and roles of each group, squadron, and flight.
  • Analysts will attend the course within 6 months of assignment to the unit, or within 1 month of assignment for remote assignments, and within 6 months of assignment for ARC.
