Flashcards

Posterior compartment leg muscles

Tibialis posterior, Flexor digitorum longus, and Flexor hallucis longus are located in the posterior compartment of the leg.

Intrinsic foot muscles

Intrinsic foot muscles are located entirely within the foot.

Popliteal fossa structures

The popliteal fossa is a region behind the knee; it doesn't include the extensor digitorum longus.

Antagonist to biceps brachii

The triceps brachii opposes the biceps brachii during elbow flexion.

Lateral compartment leg muscle

Peroneus longus is in the lateral compartment of the leg; also called fibula muscles.

Calcaneal tendon components

Gastrocnemius and Soleus muscles form the calcaneal tendon (Achilles tendon).
