Uniform Policy

Collar insignia must be worn by all members on Class A work and short sleeve Class B uniform shirts.
Members with the rank of lieutenant or above must wear appropriate rank insignia on their collars.
The insignia should be oriented at the lowest point of the collar and centered evenly.
Chief officers wear gold collar insignia, while captains and lieutenants wear silver insignia.
All other members wear silver collar insignia that is ½” in height with the letters L.F.P.D.

Badges

Badges are to be worn above the left breast pocket.
Chief officers wear gold badges, while all others wear silver badges.
Only department-issued badges are permitted.

Nameplates

Nameplates are to be worn over the right breast pocket on Class A work and Class B short sleeve shirts.
Nameplates should be centered above the pocket and as close as possible to the top edge of the pocket.
Chief officers wear gold nameplates, while all others wear silver nameplates.
Nameplates are engraved and measure 2 and 1/4” inches long and 3/8” tall, with lettering consisting of first initial and last name.

Trousers

All trousers must be issued Nomex pants and be dark blue in color.
EMT pants are not permitted.

Belt

The belt must be leather and solid black with a small silver buckle or no buckle at all.

Footwear

Footwear must be black in color, leather or cloth, with a round toe.
Heel height should not exceed 1.5”, and laces should be black.
There should be no buckles, straps, or decorative striping on the footwear.
If socks are visible, they should also be black.

Ball Caps

Ball caps may be worn with Class A work or short sleeve Class B dress shirts.
Ball caps may also be worn with a job shirt and Class C uniform.
The hats should be uniform and have "Limestone Fire" on the front, with names added to the back or sides at individual discretion.

Hair Code

Female firefighters should not wear their hair below the bottom of the shirt collar, and not below one inch above the eyebrows.
Male firefighters should not have hair touching the collar, nor covering more than the top half of the ear, and not below one inch above the eyebrows.
Sideburns should not extend past the bottom of the ear and should be neatly trimmed, worn straight, and not flared.

Facial Hair

Firefighters must be clean-shaven.
Mustaches may be worn and should be neatly trimmed, not extending over the upper lip, nor more than one inch horizontally past the corner of the mouth.

Tee Shirt Insignia

The official insignia of the Limestone Fire Protection District for use on t-shirts, shorts, sweats, and other items is as follows:
- Drivers and above have their rank inserted below the Maltese cross.
- All personnel have their name on the right breast of their t-shirts and sweatshirts.
- Name and rank on other items of clothing are optional.
- The back of the t-shirts and sweatshirts should match the provided picture.
