  • D-Team: A group of Department investigators with investigative experience in particular investigations, determined by the Chief of Police or their designee

Guidelines for Investigation

  • The Chief of Police or their designee determines if an outside agency or the D-Team will lead the investigation
  • The D-Team responds to all incidents investigated by outside agencies and acts as a liaison at the direction of the outside agency
  • Outside agencies investigate incidents involving the discharge of a firearm by a member resulting in the death or serious bodily injury of a citizen
  • Outside agencies may also be called upon to investigate or assist on other criminal matters in circumstances where the Chief of Police or designee deem necessary for transparency and public trust

Crime Scene Unit
