Language Assessment Handbook
- The Language Assessment Handbook is designed to prepare bilingual teammates for a language assessment.
- The assessment has three sections: Phrase Interpretation, Terminology Translation, and Fluency Questions.
Phrase Interpretation
- In this section, a phrase will be read aloud, and the candidate will interpret it back to the tester.
- The candidate can ask for repetition up to two times if needed.
- Partial points will be given for any correct parts of an incomplete phrase.
Terminology Translation
- In this section, a term in either English or Spanish will be read to the candidate for translation to the other language.
- The tester can repeat the term up to three times and spell it out for the candidate.
Fluency Questions
- In this section, there will be two open-ended questions, one for each language, that must be answered in the same language.
