- Pathology is the scientific study of disease and its processes, including causes and consequences.
- Pathology is derived from two Greek words: "pathos" (disease) and "logos" (study).
- Students will study: Concepts of Health and Disease, Nail Pathology, Cell Injury, Healing and Repair, Inflammation, Immunology, Tumours, Vascular Pathology, Microbiology, Fungal Microscopy.
What is Pathology?
- Pathology is the study of disease. Everyone experiences some form of illness or injury.
- The concept is important for general health and podiatry.
What will I be studying?
- The topics to be studied in the course include concepts of health and disease, nail pathology, cell injury, healing and repair, inflammation, immunology, tumours, vascular pathology, microbiology and fungal microscopy.
