• Pre-service teachers should be able to discuss the basic components of instructional planning correctly through group discussion by the end of the lesson.
• The lesson will demonstrate knowledge of preparing a lesson guide using the basic components of instructional planning for English subjects at primary and intermediate levels.
• This involves applying appropriate teaching strategies in a teaching demonstration practicum.

Deciding How to Teach

• Set instructional goals.
• Select instructional methods and materials.
• Pace instruction appropriately.
• Monitor learner performance, and replan instruction as needed.

Communicating Realistic Expectations

• Use clear objectives.
• Provide appropriate learning materials.
• Promote active background knowledge.
• Deliver direct instruction.
• Implement guided, collaborative, and independent learner practice.
• Provide closure activities.
• Ensure learners demonstrate learning, showing understanding of the material.
