Study Notes
- The Inmate Management Team will consist of the Classification Unit Supervisor, Investigations Unit Commander, Delta One supervisor, contracted medical staff, and contracted mental health staff.
- The Classification Unit Supervisor is the designated team leader.
- The IMT will review the needs and security of all inmates who have been assessed, classified, or recommended for placement into administrative segregation. The placement of an inmate into administrative segregation must be authorized by Classification Unit staff and/or the Inmate Management Team.
- The IMT will review the status of special needs inmates as determined by the mental health provider.
- The IMT will meet weekly as determined by the Detention Administrative Division Commander.
- The IMT will have the authority to continue or discontinue placement, recommend new housing locations, take away or add restrictions and privileges according to state regulations, and alert staff to possible risks posed by those inmates.
- The Inmate Management Summary will be distributed at the IMT meeting and will include the following: name, identification number, photograph, and date of birth; current charges; and previous two (2) weeks of documented behavioral history, contact card entries, and incidents.
- Behavior management decisions must be based on prior documented behavior; incidents and behaviors that have not been documented will not be considered.
- Behavior management decisions will not be retaliatory in nature, and will not be used as disciplinary sanctions or as punishment.
- Inmates are provided with a minimum of three hours of outdoor exercise per week, weather permitting, and are provided with a restraint chair if needed to prevent an escape or to protect staff.
- Behavior management decisions may be based on the inmate's behavior in confinement areas, and the inmate's behavior during meals.
- The Behavior Management Profile Sheet (JFCN-045) will be reviewed and updated weekly unless discontinued by the IMT.
- Only the Inmate Management Section Commander and the Classification Unit are authorized to make changes to the Behavior Management Profile Sheet (JFCN-045).
- The Behavior Management Profile Sheet (JFCN-045) will be distributed via email and posted on SmartForce. The original will be retained in the inmate's classification file.
