Indigenous Peoples (IPs)
- IPs are mainly concentrated in Northern Luzon (33%) and Mindanao (61%) with some groups in the Visayas area
- The lack of data on the number and distribution of IPs in the Philippines hinders policy and program development
- Preliminary data shows an IP population of 8 million, while the NCIP estimates it at around 14 million
Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
- 1.57% of the household population, or approximately 1,443,000 persons, have a disability
- Region IV-A has the highest number of PWDs at 193,000, followed by the National Capital Region with 167,000
- The Cordillera Administrative Region has the lowest number of PWDs at 26,000
- Ten regions have a proportion of PWDs higher than the national figure
- Males account for 50.9% of PWDs, while females comprise 49.1%
- The largest excess in the number of males with disabilities is in the age group 0-14 years with a sex ratio of 121 males per 100 females
- In the age group 65 years and over, there are more females with disabilities than males
