    Course Description

    • Development efforts must include people with disabilities, those at risk of exclusion/discrimination, by providing quality education, training, and creating inclusive societies.
    • People with disabilities are the largest disadvantaged minority globally (approximately 15% of the population) and 17.6 million in Ethiopia.
    • Exclusion practices violate fundamental human rights and hinder poverty reduction and economic growth.
    • People with disabilities have a long history of discrimination.

    Chapter 1: Understanding Disabilities and Vulnerabilities
