- The Supply Chain department is responsible for arranging transportation service providers for inbound and outbound logistics.
- The Import Executive/Logistics Officer is responsible for timely custom clearance of inbound material through clearing agents and transporters with minimal costs.
- The Import Executive/Logistics Officer is responsible for accurate verification of invoices from clearing agents, transporters, and freight forwarders.
- The Import Manager/Logistics Team is responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping documents for clearance of shipments from ports.
- Verification of PO numbers, invoice value, quantity, shipper name, consignee name, port of origin, port of delivery, description of goods, and detailed packing list will be done.
- Updated information of all consignments with their current shipment/clearance status will be shared by Import Executive/Logistics Officer to Import/Commercial Manager.
- Import Executive/relevant buying team will confirm custom duty details to the clearing agent for spares, consumables, and miscellaneous items.
- Pay orders for duties and taxes will be prepared by Finance and shared with Import Executive for onward submission to clearing agents.
- Import Executive/Logistics officer will follow up with clearing agents for timely release of consignments from customs and communicate any exceptions to Import Manager.
- Upon receipt of consignment release/readiness information from clearance agents, Import Executive/Logistics Officer will send transportation inquiries to all approved transporters through emails upon/after arrival.
- Import Executive/Logistics Officer will ensure that all empty containers are being deposited within agreed time limits by transporters/shipping lines.
- Import Executive/Logistics Officer will process the detention pay order advice and if there is any delay due to transporter, an email will be sent to transporter who will have to confirm within two working days.
