Stages of Child Development

Holistic Development

• Holistic Development refers to the biological aspects of growth, such as physical growth and brain development.
• Holistic Learning, on the other hand, involves active or intentional learning, such as learning to read.
• Holistic development encompasses social, emotional, physical, mental, and intellectual growth.

Processes of Holistic Development

• There are three processes of holistic development: biological, cognitive, and social-emotional.
• The biological process involves bodily changes, such as physical growth, brain development, and weight increases.
• The cognitive process includes thinking, intelligence, and language skills.
• The social-emotional process comprises personality, emotions, and interpersonal connections.
• The three processes influence and impact each other and are not mutually exclusive.

Importance of Holistic Development

• A holistic approach to education focuses on all aspects of a child's growth, not just their academic advancements.
• It's about establishing the child's overall well-being.
