- Fire Department employees may be assigned Village-provided equipment, including:
- Vehicles
- Lockers
- Desks
- Cabinets
- Briefcases
Responsibility and Liability
- Employees are advised that retention of personal items in assigned equipment is at their own risk
- The Village and employee supervisors are not responsible for any losses
Search and Inspection
- Village-provided equipment is subject to entry, search, and inspection by superiors without further notice
- Privately owned property contained in assigned equipment (including sealed items/containers) may be opened and examined without notice or permission
- This includes equipment protected by personally owned locks
Expectation of Privacy
- Fire Department employees have NO expectation of privacy when using Village-provided equipment
