Simple Present

Definition

• The simple present is a verb tense used to describe habitual, regular, or true actions.
• It is used to talk about things that are generally true or things that happen regularly.

Formation

• The simple present is formed using the base form of the verb (except for the third person singular).
• The third person singular (he, she, it) adds -s to the base form of the verb.

Examples

• I go to school every day.
• She lives in Paris.
• They play soccer together.

Uses

• To talk about habits or routines:
  • I get up at 7am every day.
  • They have breakfast at 8am.
• To describe general truths or facts:
  • The sun rises in the east.
  • Water boils at 100°C.
• To talk about scheduled events:
  • The train leaves at 5pm.
  • The concert starts at 8pm.

Negative Form

• The negative form is formed using the auxiliary verb "do" in the present tense, followed by "not" and the base form of the main verb.
• Examples:
  • I do not like coffee.
  • They do not speak English.

Questions

• Yes/No questions:
  • Do you like coffee?
  • Does she live in Paris?
• Wh- questions:
  • What do you do for a living?
  • Where does he live?

Presente Simple

Definición

• El presente simple es un tiempo verbal que se utiliza para describir acciones habituales, regulares o verdaderas.
• Se utiliza para hablar de cosas que son generalmente ciertas o que suceden regularmente.

Formación

• El presente simple se forma utilizando la forma base del verbo (excepto para la tercera persona singular).
• La tercera persona singular (él, ella, ello) añade -s a la forma base del verbo.

Ejemplos

• Yo voy a la escuela todos los días.
• Ella vive en París.
• Ellos juegan fútbol juntos.

Usos

• Para hablar de hábitos o rutinas:
  • Yo me levanto a las 7am todos los días.
  • Ellos tienen desayuno a las 8am.

Forma Negativa

• La forma negativa se forma utilizando el verbo auxiliar "do" en presente, seguido de "not" y la forma base del verbo principal.

• Preguntas sí/no:
  • ¿Te gusta el café?
