    • Students must obtain an overall average grade of 2.5 in all major courses to remain in the College of Arts, Sciences, & Technology (CAST), particularly in the BSCS program. Students failing to meet this requirement will be advised to switch to another program. This policy applies from the student's second year onwards.

Examination, Grade Reports, & Grading System

    • Students who do not complete the final exam in a subject may receive a final grade without earning credits, like "NC" for "No Credit" or "NG" for "No Grade," if their performance is considered unsatisfactory enough to merit a final passing grade despite their absence.
    • Grade reports are distributed to parents and guardians after midterm and final exams during Parents, Guardian and Teacher Association (PGTA) meetings.
    • Special exams for periodic examinations can only be given to students with excused absences and must be taken within five working days after the scheduled exam. There is a 50 peso fee for these special exams.
    • The grading system includes:
    • Quizzes: Short examinations for daily preparation and assessment of past lesson understanding.
    • Major Examinations: Long examinations held four times per semester (preliminary, midterm, semifinal, and final) and twice in summer (midterm and final exams).
    • Participation: Other requirements may include projects, term papers, reading reports, experiments, and class participation (recitations, homework, seatwork, themes, class reports, laboratory reports, etc.). Faculty members have the authority to assign percentages or weights for each component in the grading system.
