General Requirements for SMS
- Each certificate holder must establish and maintain an SMS:
- Appropriate to the size, nature, and complexity of the organization and operations
- Includes at least five components:
- Safety policy
- Safety risk management
- Safety assurance
- Safety promotion
- Sector-specific requirements
- SMS must be maintained in accordance with recordkeeping requirements
- SMS must ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements in GACAR
