what is anemia

Anaemia is a disease condition characterised by a reduction in number of circulating rbc and consequently circulating hemoglobin content of the blood

causes

When erythropoietic tissue cant supply enough normal rbc to maintain daily output of about 2x1011 cells to maintain normal concentration. 2.Rapid loss of blood from the body above which rbc production. 3.Maturation failure of reticulocyte to erythrocyte due to absence of Vit12 & folic acid, with formation of a megaloblast (rbc with nucleus)

types

TYPES

  1. Sickle cell anaemia:Result from abnormal sickle shaped present in blood as a result of hereditory ormutation
  2. Aplastic anaemia:Absent of red bone marrow with replacement with fatty tissue
  3. Pernicious /Megaloblastic anaemia:Maturation failure of reticulocyte to erythrocyte due to absence of Vit12 & folic acid, with formation of a megaloblast (rbc with nucleus)
  4. Iron deficient anaemia:Iron deficiency wil leads 2 lowered rbc productn & hemoglobin concentration.
  5. Hemolytic anaemia Hemolysis due to problem with the rbc membrane, presence of drugs and infection that affect negatively th eactivities of the Glucose -6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase
