Definition of Food
- According to Regulation no 178/2002 of the European Parliament, "food" (or "foodstuff") means any substance or product, whether processed, partially processed or unprocessed, intended to be, or reasonably expected to be, ingested by humans.
Scope of Food Hygiene
- The scope of food hygiene encompasses all stages of the food chain, from production, processing, distribution, and sale, to preparation and consumption.
Exclusions from the Definition of Food
