Fire District Apparatus and Equipment Checkoff

Effective May 1, 2023, Vector Check It will be used for apparatus and equipment checkoff.
The process is similar to the current checkoff process for medical supplies.
To complete a check, locate the respective Unit in Check It and find the Daily Checkoff listed under each Unit.
Weekly checks will be conducted on Wednesdays, including Pump Backflush.

The digital checkoff aims to improve maintenance process and inventory controls.
It's part of a comprehensive plan to enhance equipment carried on apparatus and develop consistency among the fleet.
The goal is to improve operational efficiency.

Minor adjustments will be made, including removing fluids except for regular gasoline and mixed fuel.
Motor oil, bar oil, etc. will be kept at the station in the flammables cabinet.
Aerial apparatus are being reconfigured to improve functionality for truck company and support operations.
Hose lines will maintain multifunctional capabilities, with an emphasis on adding more rescue and extrication equipment.
Engine-specific items like hydrant bags and various appliances have been removed from certain apparatus.

Reserve apparatus have been outfitted with required hand tools, hose lines, nozzles, and appliances.
Items to be transferred will be limited to primary equipment, including medical, ballistic vests, radios, MDT, SCBA, spare cylinders, thermal imaging camera, and extrication tools.
The checkoff for reserve units will note items requiring transfer from frontline apparatus with "TRANSFER" under the specific item.

The implementation is a work in progress, and checkoffs will be revised as adjustments are made and new equipment is added.
