FAU Self-Service
- OIT has implemented a new identity management system for students, faculty, and staff to activate and manage their FAUNet IDs.
- The FAU Account Self-Services portal allows users to activate new FAUNet IDs, reset passwords, manage security questions, and review how to use their FAUNet ID.
FAU Email, MyFAU, and Canvas
- Upon acceptance into graduate school, students are provided an FAU email address and other credentials.
- FAU email address, Z number, and login credentials for MyFAU and Canvas are critical for coursework and other FAU business.
Canvas for Students
- Canvas is the course management software used by the University for delivering course content.
- Students will use Canvas to obtain course content and handouts, and to participate in class.
Technology Requirements
- The Center for eLearning provides resources to support students in their online educational journey.
- Minimal technical skills required include:
- Accessing the Internet
- Using Canvas (attaching documents, using discussion boards, etc.)
- Using email with attachments
- Creating and submitting files in Microsoft Office formats
- Copying and pasting functions
- Downloading and installing software
- Using presentation, graphics, and other programs
