Meteorites impact further contribute to geological upheavals here on Earth.

Oceanography covers everything below sea level. Marine biogeochemists investigate marine life's ecology and chemistry, often focusing on planktons, for example. Oceans influence weather significantly since they store heat during summer months then gradually release it throughout winter months, moderating cold snaps. Furthermore, marine animals produce sounds that travel great distances via sound waves through water and can help track oceanic currents and monitor animal migrations.
