UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol
- The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) aims to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that prevents dangerous human-induced interference with the climate system.
Kyoto Protocol
- The Kyoto Protocol was adopted on December 11, 1997.
- Under the Kyoto Protocol, Annex I countries (developed countries) are committed to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by at least 5% below 1990 levels during the first commitment period (2008-2012).
