Emergency Staffing Guidelines
- Replacement must be called in whenever a member leaves during a shift.

Member Definition
- Includes all Officers and Firefighters, both paid and volunteer, within Montgomery County Emergency Service District #3.
Mutual Aid Definition
- Refers to responses outside the boundaries of Montgomery County Emergency Service District #3 or assistance provided to non-fire/EMS agencies within the district.
1-11 Response Definition
- Involves using a 1% or greater hose line to extinguish fires at residential or commercial structures causing property damage.
Scope of Guidelines
- Applicable to all District members responding to emergency incidents.
Responsibilities of Members
- All members are required to read and adhere to these guidelines.
- Battalion Chief has the authority to deviate from guidelines during high call volumes or to maintain apparatus or station functionality due to insufficient staffing.
Minimum Staffing Levels
- Overall minimum staffing is set at nineteen (19).
- Station 31 must maintain eight (8) members as follows:
- BC-31: One Officer
- E-31: One Officer, One Engineer, One Firefighter
- L-31: One Officer, One Engineer, One Firefighter
- T-31: One Engineer
- SQ-31: Staffed by personnel from T-31 and L-31 when at minimum staffing.
Emergency Staffing Protocol
- During emergencies, the staffing level drops to eighteen (18) by assigning one firefighter to drive T-31 and reducing L-31 staffing to two (2).
