- Defibrillator (AED)
- Epinephrine
- Aspirin
- Glucose / Glucagon
- Glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) spray
- Midazolam
- Salbutamol
- Oxygen
Defibrilator
- During cardiac emergencies, use defibrillator and follow the automated instructions
- Use for any patient at risk from cardiac interruptions
Adrenaline
- Adults dosage: 500mg/0.5ml concentration of 1:1000 (Injection)
- Indicated for Anaphylaxis
- Dosage may be repeated at 5 min intervals after adequate response
- Children (6-12 years): 300mg/0.30ml (Injection)
- Indicated for Anaphylaxis
- Dosage may be repeated at 5 min intervals after adequate response
- Children (under 6 years): 150 mg/0.15ml (Injection)
- Indicated for Anaphylaxis
- Dosage may be repeated at 5 min intervals after adequate response
Glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) spray
- Dosage 400-800mcgs administered sublingually via 2 actuations
- Indicated for Angina or suspected heart attack
- Actuations may be repeated
Salbutamol (Bronchodilator)
- Dosage of 100mg administered via 2 actuations inhaled
- Indicated for Asthma
- Actuations may be repeated.
- If no response, use nebuliser solution and oxygen
- A spacer can be used
Dispersible Aspirin
- Dosage of 300mg administered orally
- Indicated for suspected cardiac conditions
- Tablet is chewable, check for allergy first
Glucose
- Dosage of 15-20mg administered orally
- Indicated for Hypoglycaemia in a co-operative patient
- 15-20mg is equivalent to 3 jelly babies
Glucagon
- Dosage is 1mg per vial
- For children under 8, dosage is 0.5mg
- Administer intra muscular injection for severe Hypoglycaemia, in unconscious patient
- Must be kept in fridge and needs mixing
