- Adenosine is used for asthma, bronchospasm, and hyperkalemia
- Adult dosage: 6.0 mg rapid bolus, pediatric dosage: 0.1 mg/kg (up to 6.0 mg)
- If no response to initial bolus, adult can receive 12 mg, and pediatric can receive 0.2 mg/kg (up to 12 mg)
- Adverse reactions of adenosine include tachycardia, hypertension, and dysrhythmias
- Albuterol sulfate is a beta2 agonist bronchodilator used for asthma and bronchospasm
