- Time Markers: when, as, since, while, at the time, after, before, during
- Adding Information Markers: and, also, too, in addition, moreover, furthermore, besides, not only...but also, as well as
- Condition Markers: if, unless, on condition that, provided, as, since, because, due to, for, owing to, causes, brings about, leads to
- Result/Consequence Markers: hence, thus, as a result, consequently, so, so... that, therefore, results in
- Purpose Markers: in order to, in the hope that, to + a verb, so as to, so that
- Similarity Markers: similarly, in the same way, likewise, like, as, as... as, just as... so, both... and, neither... nor
- Contrast Markers: while, whereas, unlike, but, on the other hand, differently from, in contrast to, instead of, rather than
