- The purpose of this SOP is to ensure the Ventana Benchmark Ultra is free from any contaminants/bacteria that could affect the quality staining of the immunohistochemistry (IHC) and insitu hybridization slides (ISH) slides.
- The equipment used for the decontamination process is a diluted Lysol ICB, bulk reagent carboys, distilled water (DI water), temperature verification slides, QC log quarterly maintenance (AP-HIS.A509), waste containers, large funnel, sharpie pen, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- The calibration of the Ventana Benchmark Ultra is performed quarterly and annually.
- Quality control for the Ventana Benchmark Ultra is performed by software that notifies the user of maintenance needed for the decontamination and the preventative maintenance.
- The Ventana Benchmark Ultra decontamination procedure includes three stages: Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3.
- In Stage 1, a sterilizing solution is pumped throughout the system and let soak.
