- Conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
- Purpose: to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers in schools under the Central Government (KVS, NVS, etc.)
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum qualification: 12th pass with at least 50% marks
- For Paper I (Class I-V): 12th pass with at least 50% marks and pursuing/done D.Ed/B.Ed
- For Paper II (Class VI-VIII): Graduation with at least 50% marks and pursuing/done B.Ed
Exam Pattern
- Two papers:
- Paper I (Class I-V): 150 marks, 150 minutes, 30 questions each in Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies
- Paper II (Class VI-VIII): 150 marks, 150 minutes, 30 questions each in Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Science or Social Studies
