Connecting Peripherals
- To connect a printer/scanner cable, inspect the connectors at both ends, attach the correct end to the corresponding port, tighten screws securely but do not over tighten, insert the other end into the printer/scanner's port, connect the power adapter, and install accessories following user guide instructions
- To connect a keyboard or mouse, first identify the type (PS/2 or USB) and the appropriate port on the computer, insert the connector, and verify that no errors are displayed during the boot process. Install device drivers if necessary
- To connect audio devices, install a sound card, locate an available expansion card slot, remove the slot cover, insert the sound card, secure it, restart the computer, and install the device driver if prompted
Uninstalling or Changing Software

- They are used in both large and small networks for backbone and end-user services
SOHO Networks
- A SOHO network connects devices in a small office or home office
- It typically connects less than 20 computers or nodes
- It often facilitates file and printer sharing, along with email, faxing, and other services
- SOHO networks can include a combination of wired and wireless connections
- All devices usually share the same physical location
Installing a Local Printer
- Ensure the printer is compatible with your operating system and applications
- Prepare the device for installation: check for driver updates and verify it's connected and powered on
- If the system detects the printer, follow the New Hardware Wizard steps
- If not, use the downloaded drivers or installation disc following manufacturer instructions
