Types of Mixtures

  • Colloid: A colloid is a stable mixture where tiny particles are dispersed throughout a continuous medium. An example of a colloid is milk, which contains fat globules suspended in water.

  • Solution: A solution is a homogeneous mixture where solute particles are completely dissolved in a solvent. An example of a solution is saltwater, where salt is dissolved in water.
