Cleaning Kitchen Appliances

• Refrigerator:
  • Remove all food items and wipe down shelves and drawers with a warm water and mild dish soap mixture.
  • Use a baking soda paste for stubborn stains.
  • Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and mild detergent, or a stainless steel cleaner for stainless steel surfaces.

Oven

• Use the self-cleaning cycle according to the manufacturer's instructions.
• For manual cleaning, apply a baking soda and water paste to interior surfaces, let it sit overnight, and then scrub and wipe clean.

Microwave

• Clean the interior by heating a mixture of water and lemon or vinegar in a microwave-safe bowl, then wipe down with a damp cloth.
• Clean the exterior with a mild detergent.

Dishwasher

• Remove and clean the filter.
• Run a cycle with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of white vinegar to remove buildup and odors.
• Wipe the edges and door seals with a damp cloth.

Coffee Maker

• Run a brew cycle with equal parts water and white vinegar, then rinse with 2-3 cycles of fresh water.

• Fill halfway with warm water and dish soap, blend for a few seconds, then rinse thoroughly.

• Unplug and remove crumbs by shaking over the sink or trash can.

• Remove the filter and soak it in hot water and dish soap.
• Wipe the exterior with a degreaser or a mixture of water and dish soap.

Mixer

• Detach and wash removable parts in warm, soapy water.
• Wipe the base with a damp cloth.

Garbage Disposal

• Clean the blades by pouring a mixture of ice cubes and salt down the disposal.
• Freshen the disposal by following with lemon or orange peels.
