    Study Notes

    Separation Minima for Approach Control

    • Aerodrome uses its own separation, except for wake turbulence (Wake Turbulence Separation)
    • Adequate separation can be provided by the aerodrome controller when:
      • Each aircraft is continuously visible to the controller
      • Each aircraft is continuously visible to flight crews of other aircraft concerned and pilots report they can maintain their own separation
      • In case of one aircraft following another, the flight crew of the succeeding aircraft reports that the other aircraft is in sight and separation can be maintained
