- All threats to city buildings are taken seriously and have the potential to be real.
Receiving a Bomb Threat Call
- Personnel should ask questions to the threat-maker, including:
- Where is the bomb?
- When is it going to explode?
- What does it look like?
- Why did you place the bomb?
- Take detailed notes on:
- Everything said during the conversation
- Background noise, voice, accents, gender, and telephone number (display or *69)
Notifications for Administrative Buildings
- Notify:

- Supervisor
- Floor Fire Warden
Notifications for Fire Stations
- Notify:
- Company Officer(s)
- Fire station Duty Officer
- TFS Communications Centre
- Toronto Police Service
- On-duty Platoon Chief
- Division Commander
Evacuation Procedures for Fire Stations
- Follow established site evacuation procedures in accordance with Standard Operating Guideline F-EVAC — Evacuation of Fire Station
- On-site supervisory personnel advises as necessary
Searching the Work Area
- Under the direction of Corporate Security and/or TPS, personnel may be required to search their own work area(s)
- Directions of on-site security and emergency personnel shall be followed
- Search for any item out of the ordinary
If a Device or Suspicious Object is Discovered
- DO NOT TOUCH OR ATTEMPT TO MOVE IT

- Follow the instructions of on-scene security/police personnel
- DO NOT assume there is only one device
- DO NOT use handheld radios or cellular telephones
