Active Content
- Enable active content in a database by clicking the "Enable Content" button.
Print Preview
- To preview printed table results, access backstage view: click "Print" then "Print Preview".
- Adjust preview options to show two pages simultaneously by selecting the "Two Pages" button in the Print Preview Ribbon Tab.
Query Criteria
- Modify query to filter records in the DeptCode field for values ENG or CIS.
- Adjust the criteria by selecting the criteria row in the DeptCode field and altering as needed. Run the query to display results.
Split Forms
- Create a Split form using the Classes table via the Create Ribbon Tab: select "More Forms" and then choose "Split Form".
Filtering Records
- Use "Filter by Selection" to display records where student's DOB is on or after 10/25/2006.
- Click on the date cell, navigate to the Sort & Filter group, and select "On or After '10/25/2006'" from the selection menu.
Calculated Fields
- Introduce a calculated field named "Tuition" adjacent to the Credits column, computed as Credits * 150.
- Right-click to access the Zoom dialog and enter the calculation formula. After setting it, run the query to view the outcomes.
Reporting
- Preview query results for printing by accessing backstage view and selecting "Print" then "Print Preview".
- In Print Preview, set to view two pages at once using the "Two Pages" button.
Default Value Setting
- From Design view, alter the Default Value property of the Classification field to "Fr". Confirm changes by pressing Enter.
Last Record Navigation
- Move to the last record by clicking the "Last Record" button.
Freshmen Classification Filter
- Adapt query criteria to filter students classified as freshmen (Fr) by adjusting the Classification field's criteria. Run the query to see results.
Adding Records
- Add a new record with student ID 6412 by clicking the "New" button and entering the ID in the Access Table, using Tab to progress to the next field.
AutoFilter Usage
- Apply AutoFilter on the Department field to display records specific to the value "Economics".
- Access the filter by clicking the dropdown arrow in the Department column, unchecking "Select All", checking "Economics", and confirming with OK.
Creating Reports
- Generate a new blank report that will appear in Layout view by selecting the "Blank Report" option from the Create Ribbon Tab.
Additional Default Value Setting
- From Datasheet view, set the Default Value property for the Classification field to "Fr" by navigating within the Fields Ribbon Tab and making changes in the properties.
