    Dispatch Protocol

    • Communications dispatchers will inform DLE field supervisors of calls received when no units are available, relaying all caller-provided information.
    • Field supervisors are responsible for determining call assignment and will be reminded of pending calls every 15 minutes.
    • Supervisors cannot ask dispatchers to hold calls that were not reviewed.
    • Dispatchers will notify field supervisors of multiple calls for the same location, involving violence, threats, 911 hang-ups, or in-progress calls.
    • Particular attention is given to calls held at shift change, with the off-going supervisor communicating with the oncoming supervisor to assess status and priority.

    Field Staff Responsibilities
