  • Responsible for administering, directing, and coordinating training of all fire department personnel in all related disciplines

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops, maintains, and conducts continuous training programs throughout the year, including firefighting, driving apparatus, SCBA, and other fire department related training
  • Schedules training with other programs and monitors training exercises at the station level
  • Provides initial training and orientation, supervises probationary firefighters, and submits recommendations for employment status
  • May be dispatched to large fires and other scenes to assess training needs
