- The genealogy of Jesus Christ is recorded from Abraham to Jesus, with 42 generations.
- The generations are divided into three groups: from Abraham to David (14 generations), from David to the Babylonian exile (14 generations), and from the exile to Jesus Christ (14 generations).
The Birth of Jesus Christ
- Mary, the mother of Jesus, was espoused to Joseph but was found to be with child by the Holy Ghost.
