Flight Rules and Regulations
- Maximum speed when flying in a holding pattern between 6000ft to 14000ft is reached just after entry into the hold.
- When an aircraft is flying below 3000ft AGL (Above Ground Level) within 10 NM (nautical miles) of an aerodrome, maximum speed is limited to 230 kts (knots).
- The maximum flight duty time in 24 consecutive hours is 14 hours.
Airspace and Control Zones
- When a tower is not operating, a Class C control zone changes to Class E Controlled.
- Outside of controlled airspace, pilots must know and comply with Class E Controlled rules.
Aircraft Operations
- Critical Point (Time To) refers to the time it takes to access a copy of the Company Operational Manual (D).
- Takeoff and landing on a building-up area are only authorized at an airport or military airdrome.
Aircraft Systems
- In a turbofan engine, all or part of the fan air bypasses the low compressor and mixes with exhaust.
