Automatic Fire Alarms (AFA) Response Guidelines
- The purpose of this guideline is to provide standardized responses to Automatic Fire Alarms (AFA) incidents.
- The guideline may be altered based on information received from Northwest Central Dispatch (NWCD) or to achieve a faster response.
Response Procedure
- For automatic fire alarms in fire position and residential automatic dialing fire alarm systems, the response will include:
- Still district or closest engine
- Still district or closest ambulance
- Tower 22
- Squad 22 (if still district ambulance is not available)
- For telephone reports from single-family residences indicating a single station smoke detector activation with no smoke or fire conditions, the response will be downgraded to a Code 2 response and responded to in a non-emergency mode.

- Response will include Engine 21, Engine 22, Tower 22, Squad 22, Ambulance 21, and Bat 6
