Attendance Control Policy

  • The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation's attendance control policy aims to ensure that each department is fully staffed to meet its commitments.

Employee Responsibilities

  • Excessive absenteeism is defined as 3 incidents within a 30-day period, 5 incidents within a 90-day period, or 12 incidents within a 12-month period.

Disciplinary Procedure

  • The disciplinary procedure for excessive absenteeism/tardiness follows a progressive sequence of written warnings, disciplinary suspension, and discharge/termination.
  • Prior written warnings for attendance violations will be removed from the employee's file after 12 consecutive months without disciplinary action.

Recognition/Awards

  • Employees with perfect attendance in a full calendar year will be recognized and receive a plaque, gift certificate, and/or similar award.
  • Department heads will review employee records with the Human Resources Department to identify candidates for recognition.
