- Architects have a responsibility to ensure that their influence is positive by balancing environmental, social, and economic aspects of building projects.
- Best practice now involves consideration of the impact of construction and buildings on people through inclusive design and health, safety, and wellbeing.
- The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) provides an overarching guide for architects on the basic application of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the profession.
- Architects can support human rights by developing and promoting a policy statement, engaging in pro bono work, and developing and promoting a human rights due diligence strategy.
- Architects can address environmental stewardship by reviewing business policies, developing sustainability strategies, promoting greater environmental responsibility, entering awards, and assisting local charities and community groups on sustainable building projects in a pro bono capacity.
- The Partnership Framework for Sustainable Development (PFSD) 2019-2023 is the fifth Philippines-UN country plan since 1995 and the first that redefines the nature of UN System engagement in the Philippines.
- The PFSD is a collaboration in a strategic partnership that directs the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) attention and resources towards areas where the country's medium- and long-term sustainable development targets are likely to be out of reach otherwise.
- The PFSD is the initial investment in a longer-term UN effort to support the Filipinos' own vision for their country as articulated in Ambisyon Natin 2040.
- The Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022, the first of four socioeconomic development plans that will operationalize Ambisyon 2040, explicitly addresses inequalities and pursues inclusive development, with all SDGs incorporated.
- The strategies of the PDP are organized into three pillars: Malasakit (enhancing the social fabric), Pagbabago (reducing inequality), and Patuloy na Pag-unlad (increasing potential growth).
- The PFSD takes as its reference the PDP 2017-2022 and focuses on addressing challenges in areas such as poverty reduction, health, education, environmental sustainability, and governance.
