Anatomy Syllabus B.Sc (APB) First Year
- Theory (150 hours):
- Gross Anatomy of Thorax and Upper Extremity, including surface anatomy, radiology, and applied anatomy.
- Histological studies of tissues (epithelial, connective, muscle, nervous, skin, bone, cartilage, lymphatic system)
- General human Embryology
- General Anatomy (skin, fascia, muscle, bone, cartilage, joints)
- Special Systemic Histology of Cardiovascular & Respiratory systems
- Special Systemic Embryology of Cardiovascular & Respiratory systems, including branchial arches
Practical Work (400 hours)
- Practical dissections: Upper Extremity and Thorax of human cadavers; models of cardiovascular and respiratory systems (general and special embryology)
- Histology studies: Slides of epithelial, connective, muscle, nervous tissues, skin, bone, cartilage, & Lymphatic & Cardiovascular & Respiratory systems
- Practical records: Practical work (dissection, histology) recorded in practical notebooks
- Viva voce exams: Students will be examined on dissected regions, bones, soft tissues, embryology, and histological slides. X-ray film examinations will include identification of anatomical regions.
- Certificates: Candidates must obtain signed certificates from the head of the department verifying practical work completion and attendance
